Experience: 0–5+ years industrial experience Post‑PhD / Post‑Doc.

Education Qualification: Ph.D. / Post‑Doctoral research in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or Peptide Chemistry

About the Role

We are looking for a Team Leader – Analytical R&D to drive scientific excellence, operational efficiency, and team leadership within our client-facing CRO analytical services. This role will play a critical part in managing analytical projects, mentoring scientists, strengthening laboratory capabilities, and supporting business growth through strong scientific due diligence.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific & Technical Leadership

  • Provide leadership for analytical chemistry services across client-driven CRO projects.
  • Review weekly project updates, identify risks, and suggest alternate methodologies, interpretations, and execution strategies.
  • Lead method development, optimization, and troubleshooting for complex analytical challenges.
  • Ensure robust interpretation of analytical data from HPLC, LCMS/UPLCMS, HRMS, NMR, and GCMS.

Operational & Lab Management

  • Develop and maintain operational plans aligned with latest analytical instruments and technologies.
  • Plan and monitor daily/weekly lab schedules, resource utilization, and productivity.
  • Ensure smooth functioning of analytical laboratories under tight timelines and multiple priorities.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analysts and scientists to build strong technical and operational capabilities.
  • Ensure team members receive adequate training, system access, and materials to perform their roles effectively.
  • Manage the team in line with organizational policies, performance standards, and best practices.

Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E)

  • Implement and monitor laboratory safety, health, and environmental (SH&E) standards in collaboration with SHE teams.
  • Establish and review audit and inspection processes to ensure compliance with SHE norms.
  • Promote a culture of continuous safety and quality improvement.
  • Ensure job safety analysis and compliance with SH&E policies for lab personnel and contract workers.

Business & Stakeholder Support

  • Provide scientific and technical due diligence support for Business Development activities.
  • Engage effectively with internal stakeholders and clients to ensure project success and satisfaction.

Technical Expertise Required

  • Strong expertise in peptide and small molecule purification.
  • Hands-on experience with Peptide LCMS, HPLC, LCMS/UPLCMS, HRMS, NMR, GCMS.
  • Deep understanding of LCMS analytical procedures for peptides and small organic molecules.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex analytical data and refine analytical strategies.
