About the Job

OCS Services is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the Ruby FPSO Operations, with a strong focus on mechanical integrity and rotating equipment reliability.

This role will act as the mechanical integrity focal point, ensuring the performance, maintenance, and inspection of rotating and static equipment meet operational, safety, and regulatory requirements throughout the asset lifecycle.

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to support operations on the Ruby FPSO, ensuring mechanical systems, rotating equipment, and static pressure systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.

This role will play a key part in asset integrity management, maintenance strategy optimization, and reliability improvement initiatives.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will:

  • Act as the Technical Coordinator and Mechanical Integrity Focal Point for day-to-day Ruby FPSO operations.
  • Provide technical support to Operational Performance Standards (OPS) and maintenance management systems.
  • Monitor FPSO performance and recommend corrective actions to maintain optimal operational standards.
  • Ensure high-quality maintenance, inspection, and repair of rotating and static mechanical equipment.
  • Implement Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), lifecycle asset management, and risk-based maintenance strategies.
  • Conduct criticality assessments, bad actor identification, and single point failure studies.
  • Ensure compliance with class, flag state, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review operational and maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure availability of critical spare parts for continuous operations.
  • Lead and contribute to incident investigations and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Develop and review Management of Change (MoC) documentation including risk assessments and as-built documentation.
  • Maintain and update the Lessons Learned Register.
  • Support offshore activities during major equipment maintenance and OEM interventions.
  • Coordinate logistics of mechanical spares and consumables between offshore and onshore teams.
  • Develop shutdown plans and work packs in coordination with FPSO maintenance teams.
  • Review and resolve technical queries from offshore teams and clients.
  • Coordinate with vendors and external consultants for technical support and field activities.

Asset Integrity & Inspection Responsibilities

  • Prepare inspection work packs for static pressure equipment and piping systems.
  • Develop and maintain inspection databases for pressure vessels, piping, and valves.
  • Oversee visual and condition-based inspections as per CMMS plans.
  • Coordinate with inspection agencies for NDT and inspection campaigns.
  • Review third-party inspection reports and identify anomalies or discrepancies.
  • Prepare inspection reports and monitor equipment performance using inspection data.
  • Manage valve maintenance and inspection programs.
  • Ensure adequate spares management for static equipment and piping systems.
  • Manage CMMS work orders related to static equipment and piping systems.
  • Support SAP material codification and BOM linking for mechanical systems.

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • NDT Level 2 certification required; API / Inspection Level 3 certifications are an advantage.
  • Vibration Analysis Category II is desirable.

Experience

  • 15 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and reliability engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Experience in offshore operations and FPSO environments is preferred.
  • Strong expertise in rotating equipment including compressors, pumps, and gas turbine generators.
  • Experience in asset integrity programs, including:
  • NDT campaigns
  • Pressure vessel inspections
  • Corrosion monitoring and management
  • Welding and structural integrity management
  • Valve integrity programs
  • Experience conducting RCA for rotating equipment failures and coordinating third-party investigations.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems (SAP or equivalent).
  • Experience in offshore commissioning and multidisciplinary environments.

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of rotating equipment components (dry gas seals, bearings, couplings, etc.).
  • Good understanding of pressure vessels, piping systems, and engineering drawings (P&IDs, isometrics, GA drawings).
  • Knowledge of Asset Integrity Management Systems for offshore oil & gas operations.
  • Familiarity with FPSO marine and process systems (advantageous).
  • Understanding of offshore regulations including class, flag state, and international standards (advantageous).
  • Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (SAP).
  • Capability as an internal auditor is an advantage.

Work Environment

This role requires strong understanding of mechanical systems and asset integrity on FPSOs.

Frequent offshore assignments are expected (approximately once every three months).
