Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex neurosurgical procedures including cranial, spinal, and minimally invasive interventions.
  • Provide immediate and expert care in emergency neurological cases, including traumatic brain injury, intracranial hemorrhage, and spinal cord injuries.
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans in OPD settings.
  • Lead and collaborate in ICU management of critically ill neurosurgical patients, ensuring timely interventions and continuous monitoring.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including neurologists, radiologists, intensivists, and rehabilitation specialists.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records, including operative notes, progress reports, and follow-up plans.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and emergency response protocols as required.
  • Stay current with emerging neurosurgical techniques, technologies, and clinical guidelines through continuous professional development.
  • Contribute to hospital quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits related to neurosurgical outcomes.

Requirements

  • MBBS with postgraduate qualification in Neurosurgery (MS/DM/MD in Neurosurgery) from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification clinical experience in neurosurgery with demonstrated proficiency in emergency, OPD, and ICU settings.
  • Proven experience in spine surgery, including cervical, thoracic, and lumbar procedures, with expertise in both open and minimally invasive techniques.
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills with the ability to manage high-acuity neurological emergencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Proficiency in using advanced imaging modalities (MRI, CT, angiography) for diagnostic and surgical planning.
  • Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) and state medical council.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call duties and night shifts as per hospital requirements.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, patient safety, and continuous learning.
