Cost Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to support cost analysis and reporting for manufacturing operations. The role involves evaluating operational expenses, identifying cost optimization opportunities, and providing actionable insights to improve efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of shopfloor activities along with financial knowledge to interpret costing effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze operational expenses and overall manufacturing costs.
• Prepare periodic cost reports and dashboards for management review.
• Track, monitor, and evaluate cost drivers across shopfloor operations.
• Identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to understand manufacturing workflows.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI and other analytical tools.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency in reporting.
• Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Educational background or certification in Finance / Costing (B.Com / MBA Finance / relevant certification preferred).
• 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial environments (preferably Oil & Gas).
• Strong understanding of shopfloor operations and manufacturing processes.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query), and MS Office Suite.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.

Preferred Skills:

• Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Exposure to Python or R for data analysis (basic level preferred).
• Familiarity with Tableau or other BI tools.
• Strong understanding of costing, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Exposure to lean manufacturing or cost optimization techniques
• Must have experience of 2- 4 years
