Role:

This is a key technical leadership role responsible for the installation, commissioning, service support, and stabilization of SMT equipment at customer sites. The position requires strong hands-on technical expertise, the ability to lead on-site teams, manage customer escalations, and ensure high service quality and customer satisfaction across multiple projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, commission, and support SMT equipment during production ramp-up phases
  • Provide on-site customer training and application support
  • Deliver standby and breakdown service support as required
  • Respond promptly to regional and customer service calls
  • Monitor production performance and support SMT line stabilization
  • Act as the technical lead and primary point of contact during customer escalations
  • Lead and coordinate on-site engineers during equipment installation and ramp-up
  • Plan and prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and ensure timely project execution
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and ASMPT service processes
  • Mentor engineers and promote technical knowledge sharing within the team
  • Support management with technical inputs, risk identification, and improvement actions

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline
  • Preferably 12–15 years of experience in a SMT equipment service environment
  • Strong knowledge of SMT equipment, including Printers, Pick & Place machines, and SPI systems
  • Hands-on experience with ASMPT DEK and SIPLACE platforms is preferred
  • Expertise in SMT machine maintenance, programming, optimization and changeover support
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills with a structured approach to root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Knowledge of SMT processes, particularly printing and inspection
  • Experience in SMT line software, MES integration, and industrial automation
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel on short notice and open to relocation
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, global environment
