Consultant Cardiac Anesthetist

Role & responsibilities

• Respond promptly to all code Blue announcements.
• Pre-anesthetic check up of cardiac surgical patients.
• To be a part of anesthesia team conducting cardiac surgery.
• Management of cardio-thoracic and vascular cases post-operatively.
• Maintenance of records (anesthesia/PAC) including narcotics in cardiac O.T.
• Management of post-operative pain in cardiac surgical patients.
• Active involvement in implementation of infection control measures.
• To provide monitored anesthesia care (ventilator, inotropes, invasive lines) and resuscitation of critically ill patients in Cath lab.
• To provide intensive care back up in C.C.U.
• Ensuring safe transportation of critically ill patients.
• To participate in seminars and teaching programs.
• To formulate the process improvement programs and carry on quality initiatives in the department.

To perform all other jobs as may be assigned due to exigencies of work.
