HOW WE GROW
Values and principles
An Internal Manifesto for the Team
This is not a list of rules. It is a standard we hold ourselves to.Every person who joins this studio agrees to grow-as a designer, as a teammate, as a human being.
01 / HONESTY
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. Do it face-to-face.
“put on a façade of politeness and don’t say what you really think.” It is unproductive and unethical. Inside this studio, honesty is not optional – it is the baseline of how we function together.
— You are not being critical when you speak honestly. You are being a good teammate.
— There are no private complaints – only direct conversations.
— Challenge directly. Never gossip.
Our principle: We speak the truth, even when it is uncomfortable. That is how we respect each other.
02 / CURIOSITY
The moment you stop asking questions is the moment you stop growing.
“I know I’m right” to “How do I know I’m right?”
Curiosity is not a personality trait. It is a professional discipline.
In a design studio, curiosity means you do not arrive at a brief with a solution already in your head. You study the space. You listen to the client. You question your own taste. You ask why a colleague made a different choice – not to challenge them, but to understand. The best work at That’s My Craft will always come from people who were willing to not know the answer yet.
— Read outside your field. Bring one new idea to the team every month.
— Ask ‘why’ before you ask ‘how’.
— Disagree with confidence, but stay open to being wrong.
Our principle: We are learners first, designers second. Curiosity is what keeps our work alive.
03 / ACCOUNTABILITY
Own it. Fix it. Make the team stronger
At That’s My Craft, accountability is how we grow together as a team who each affect each other’s work every single day. If you miss a deadline, it lands on your colleague. If you cut a corner, a client notices. Accountability is not self-punishment – it is the act of taking your role seriously enough to own both the successes and the failures.
“Acknowledging your weaknesses is not surrendering to them — it is the first step toward overcoming them.” We expect the same from every member of this team.
— When something goes wrong, say so immediately – not after the client notices.
— Mistakes are allowed once. Hiding mistakes is not allowed at all.
— Hold your teammates to the same standard you hold yourself.
Our principle: We do not point fingers. We raise our hands.
A final word.
These values are not a ceiling – they are a floor.
Honesty builds trust. Curiosity builds craft. Accountability builds the team.
