Job Summary:
The Meta Switch Migration Specialist will lead and execute migration activities from legacy voice platforms to Meta Switch systems. This role involves planning, configuration, testing, and ensuring seamless cutover with minimal service disruption. The candidate should have strong telecom domain knowledge, VoIP expertise, and experience in Meta Switch products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for executing Moves, Adds, Changes, and Deletes (MACD) within telecom networks, including System X legacy switching platforms and Meta Switch VoIP/softswitch systems, covering end‑to‑end provisioning, routing configuration, subscriber management, and service feature activation
- Analyze existing voice infrastructure and dependencies.
- Prepare detailed migration strategy, timelines, and risk mitigation plans.
- Configure MetaSwitch systems (Call Feature Server, SIP Trunks, SBCs).
- Migrate customer profiles, routing tables, and service configurations.
- Perform data migration and ensure compatibility with OSS/BSS systems.
- Conduct pre-migration and post-migration testing (call flows, QoS, failover).
- Validate service continuity and troubleshoot issues during cutover
- Maintain detailed migration procedures, configuration guides, and lessons learned
- Work with network engineering, operations, and vendor teams for smooth execution.
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards.
Required Skills:
- Hands-on experience with MetaSwitch platforms (CFS, EAS, SIP, VoIP).
- Strong understanding of telecom protocols (SIP, RTP, SS7, Diameter).
- Experience in migration projects for voice networks.
- Familiarity with SBCs, SIP Trunking, and number portability processes.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 6-8 years of experience in MetaSwitch and voice platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
