Position: Research Scientist — Agrochemical Formulations

Location: Bengaluru, India (Bommasandra)

Job Overview

We’re looking for a skilled Research Scientist — Agrochemical Formulations to develop,

optimize, and scale up agrochemical formulations across a range of dosage forms (SC, EC,

WP, WG, SL, EW, ME, etc.). The role involves hands-on formulation development at the

bench, stability evaluation, and close collaboration with process chemistry and

manufacturing teams to ensure smooth lab-to-plant technology transfer. This position offers

the opportunity to work on a growing pipeline of molecules and build deep formulation

expertise in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Key Requirements

● M.Sc. / M.Tech in Chemistry, Agricultural Chemistry, or a related discipline. Ph.D. is a

plus.

● Work experience — 7–10 years in agrochemical formulations R&D or a closely related

domain (crop protection, specialty chemicals).

● Hands-on experience developing and scaling at least 2–3 formulation types (SC, EC,

WG, SL, EW, or similar).

Skills and Responsibilities

● Develop and optimize agrochemical formulations (suspension concentrates,

emulsifiable concentrates, wettable powders, water-dispersible granules, soluble

liquids, micro-emulsions, etc.) from concept through scale-up.

● Select and evaluate surfactants, dispersants, emulsifiers, thickeners, anti-settling

agents, and other adjuvants to achieve target product performance.

● Design and execute accelerated and real-time stability studies (storage stability, heat

stability, cold stability) per FAO/WHO and CIB&RC specifications.

● Characterize formulation physical properties — particle size distribution, viscosity,

pH, emulsion stability, suspensibility, wettability, and pourability.

● Collaborate with process chemistry and manufacturing teams on technology transfer,

batch scale-up, and troubleshooting at pilot and commercial scale.

● Conduct literature and patent landscape reviews to support non-infringing

formulation design.

● Prepare and maintain technical documentation including formulation records, trial

reports, stability data, and regulatory dossier sections.

● Ensure lab safety, GLP compliance, IP confidentiality, and effective cross-functional

coordination to deliver project goals on time.

Why Join Us?

● Be part of a fast-growing Agrochemicals business with a strong focus on innovation

and technology-driven development.

● Opportunity to lead a talented R&D team and work on high-impact projects from

concept to scale-up.

● Collaborate with cross-functional experts to drive process excellence and innovation.

● A role offering significant ownership, learning, and leadership growth in a dynamic,

research-oriented environment.
