About the Role
Own the RF hardware stack for UAV communication systems operating in GNSS-denied and contested environments. This includes antenna systems, RF front-end, and analog design for reliable field performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design RF front-end architectures:
- transmitters, receivers, LNAs, PAs, filters, matching networks
- Develop and optimize antenna systems:
- multi-band, directional, compact UAV-integrated designs
- Perform RF PCB design and layout:
- impedance matching, signal integrity, high-frequency constraints
- Conduct link budget analysis and RF performance optimization
- Ensure EMI/EMC robustness and interference mitigation (hardware level)
- Define and execute RF testing & validation:
- VNA, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, field trials
- Collaborate with SDR/software team for hardware-software co-design
Required Skills
- Strong in RF and analog circuit design
- Hands-on with:
- LNA, PA, filters, mixers
- Experience with:
- antenna design and tuning
- RF PCB layout (high-frequency)
Tools:
- HFSS / CST / ADS / Altium (or equivalent)
- Understanding of:
- link budgets, noise figure, gain, RF propagation
Must-Have Experience
- 5+ years in RF hardware / telecom / aerospace / defence systems
- Experience building and validating real RF systems in field conditions
