Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Architect at VM Design Works, based in Chennai.
The Senior Architect will be responsible for leading and overseeing the design and execution of projects across both architecture and interiors. The role involves managing a team of architects, coordinating with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders, and ensuring that all projects are delivered to the highest standards of design, quality, and functionality.
The ideal candidate will bring strong design sensibility, leadership skills, and the ability to translate concepts into well-executed spaces.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Architect or Senior Architect with at least 7 years experience in an architectural firm.
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction processes
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and other related software
- Excellent design and drafting skills and knowledge of building materials, construction details, and relevant codes and regulations
- Strong leadership – project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to ensure high-quality work
- Experience with sustainable design practices is a plus
- License to practice Architecture in India is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently in both Architecture and Interiors and be able to lead the team from schematics, through execution and handover.
