Job Summary: We are looking for an IoT Hardware Specialist to join our team and play a pivotal role in the design, development, and optimization of hardware for Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hardware engineering, embedded systems, and the latest IoT hardware technologies. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, test, and deploy innovative IoT hardware solutions that meet the needs of our products and customers.
Key Responsibilities:Hardware Design & Development: Lead the design and development of IoT hardware components, including sensors, microcontrollers, connectivity modules, and embedded systems.Prototyping & Testing: Develop prototypes, conduct hardware testing, and validate the performance of IoT devices in real-world environments. Ensure reliability, performance, and durability of the hardware.Component Selection & Integration: Evaluate and select appropriate components (e.g., sensors, processors, power management) for IoT devices, ensuring compatibility, cost-effectiveness, and scalability. Integrate these components into functioning hardware platforms.Embedded Systems: Work with embedded software engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware with embedded software. Develop and implement hardware interfaces for communication with other devices and networks.Power Management & Optimization: Focus on power-efficient designs to extend battery life for portable IoT devices. Utilize low-power components and techniques to ensure devices operate optimally for long periods.Prototyping & PCB Design: Design and review PCB layouts, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Oversee the fabrication and assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and prototypes.Compliance & Certification: Ensure that hardware designs comply with relevant industry standards, certifications (e.g., CE, FCC), and safety regulations. Prepare documentation for certification processes.Performance Evaluation & Troubleshooting: Analyze hardware performance, identify issues, and recommend improvements. Perform troubleshooting for hardware-related failures and support the resolution of issues in the field.Collaboration: Work closely with the software, firmware, and systems teams to ensure that the hardware and software components of IoT devices work together seamlessly.Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest trends and innovations in IoT hardware and embedded systems. Implement best practices and new technologies to enhance the efficiency and performance of IoT devices.Documentation & Reporting: Create detailed technical documentation for hardware designs, schematics, and testing procedures. Provide regular updates and reports on hardware development progress.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.Proven experience in hardware design and development, particularly for IoT devices or embedded systems.Strong understanding of electronics, circuit design, and PCB layout.Hands-on experience with microcontrollers (e.g., ARM, ESP32, STM32) and wireless communication protocols (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRa).Proficiency in using hardware development tools such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and logic analyzers.Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for IoT hardware.Experience with low-power design techniques for battery-operated devices.Knowledge of embedded software/firmware development is a plus (e.g., using C, C++, or Python).Experience in debugging and troubleshooting hardware issues and failures.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, reliable hardware….
